The Governor's Conference on Greenways, Blueways and Trails and the 54th Annual Conference of the Virginia Recreation and Park Society and the 10th Annual Virginia Bike Walk Conference will join forces in Richmond on October 4-7, 2008 for the largest conference ever held in Virginia focusing on outdoor recreation, trails, and non-motorized transportation.

Keynote Speaker
October 5, Opening Session - Charles Jordan Chairman, The Conservation Fund
Charles Jordan is one of the most influential voices in conservation today. An outspoken proponent of our nation’s parks, Mr. Jordan is nationally recognized for his leadership and responsiveness to the diverse publics he serves. Before being named as chairman of The Conservation Fund, Mr. Jordan served as the Director of the Portland Bureau of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Parks and Recreation in Austin, Texas. He also held recreation management positions in Palm Springs, California.
Mr. Jordan was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to serve on the President’s Commission on Americans Outdoors and was later appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve on the American Heritage River Program.

On Saturday, attendees can head out on their own to sample some of Richmond’s hottest spots. Turn it up a notch on Sunday by attending our River City Party at Kanawha Plaza where we will feature music and other entertainment.
Top off your Hollywood experience by letting us roll out the red carpet for you at the star-studded Awards Banquet on Monday evening.

Shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
Four-person teams will play in one of two available flights. Registration is $75 per person and includes green fees, golf cart, coolers, towels and a buffet meal.
