July 10 Kick-off to Inspire Bike Commuting in Richmond

On Thursday, July 10, BikeWalk Virginia will partner with Ridefinders, Cycor, Conte’s Bike Shop, and the Richmond Area Bicycling Association (RABA) to hold an ice-cream social to kick-off a series of educational classes designed to help individuals start safely bike commuting. The social will be from 12:00-2:00pm on the Bank of America plaza in downtown Richmond and will provide the public with an opportunity to see gear, talk with experienced bike commuters, get educational material on safe bicycling practices, and learn about the upcoming classes.

Planned courses include two 1-hour classroom courses that introduce the basics of getting around on bike and a more advanced 4-hour road course that allows riders to practice being on the street.

Class Schedule:
Introduction Course -- Tuesday, July 22, from 12:00-1:00pm at Ridefinders, 1111 East Main Street, Richmond (in the Bank of America Pavilion)
Introduction Course --Wednesday, July 23, from 4:30-5:30pm at Ridefinders, 1111 East Main Street, Richmond (in the Bank of America Pavilion)
Road Course -- August 9, Time and location to be determined
