Staff and Board

Kimberly Perry, Ed.D., Executive Director (Email: kperry@)

Kimberly, with BWVA since 2008 is passionate about safe places for biking. Her background in health education was influential in her desire to work in bike and pedestrian advocacy where she can have a lasting impact on active living.  Kim oversees organizational activities in addition to being a subject matter expert on educational program planning. In recent year’s Kim has served on multiple state-wide bike committees, local commissions, and has served as Vice President and President of Richmond MORE. Kim is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys mountain biking, running errands by bike, kite-boarding, surfing, snowboarding, and adventure racing.

Shane Cusick, LEED AP, ASLA, Program Manager Event and Outreach (Email: scusick@)

Shane joined BWVA in 2009. He is our lead staff on bike event planning and our public outreach campaigns. Shane comes to BWVA from a Landscape Architecture background which makes him our resident expert on trail design and community planning for bike and pedestrian infrastructure. Shane is also a founding member of the Richmond Cycling Federation and has served as a National Park Service Liason to ASLA: Rivers and Trails and has recently worked on the Richmond Mayor’s Commission on Cycling and Walking. Shane is passionate about road biking, mountain biking, adventure travel and the great outdoors.

Wayne Goodman, Project Manager (Email: info@)

Wayne has worked with BWVA since early 2010. He works on grant projects and event activities, making sure our technology meets today’s demands. Wayne has 30 years experience in IT consulting and before joining our staff  had worked tirelessly in the Richmond, Virginia region to personally support and build trails for running and mountain biking. He was a founding member of Central Virginia’s only Mountain Bike organization, Richmond-MORE.  Wayne is passionate about the cycling, both on road and off, and is an advocate for lifelong physical fitness.
